It's 4:05 PM and I'm at Cerritos Library right now and I must admit that the city's libraries that I've been to so far (Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, and now Cerritos) really do portray the best of the demographics for each city. The OC library aka the Garden Grove Library has a lot of Hispanics and a handful of Koreans and a mixture of other Asians. The Huntington Beach library has for the most part has a lot of white folks and here and there a few Asians but a very few. Here at Cerritos, I'm seeing a lot more Koreans and very few white folks lol. There ARE other Asians here but I can honestly admit that I cannot tell the difference between Vietnamese and Chinese folks here in Southern California… too many hybrids.
But on to the quality of the libraries: ever since I've seen Beauty and the Beast, I always wanted to be like Belle and her love for the library. At the same time, I always moved every two years throughout elementary school so for the first semester that I am at any school; I spend in the library because I didn't know any of the kids well enough to make friends. Especially during lunch when it was hard for me to pick a particular group to hang out with, I would be in the library catching up with reading but mainly to teach myself how to do things… yeah call me a nerd but then be surprised that I taught myself how to do things =P. I'm not going to get into the things that I taught myself to do just through reading and being at the library but yeah… that's how I started getting interested in libraries and being in such an environment (I guess).
The Garden Grove library will always be my hometown library since I was in middle school and the people I've bumped into there will never be forgotten. It IS a nice library where weddings are shot a lot and who can forget that it is THE place to park for Strawberry Festival lol. Also that's the place across the street from my middle school graduation. So year… for sentimental values, I love the Garden Grove Library. There's a bridge with geese and a pretty waterfront so it's a nice place to just bring your dogs to and such. I just had a flashback of Friday Night Live (FNL) it was the city wide middle school dance that they had for us back then in middle school… lol I think if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have made so many friends that I did 'til now. Networking since middle school—good times! =)
The Huntington Beach library was introduced to me by Mr. Robert Phan cuz I wasn't able to hang out with him but he suggested that we should study together or something so I went there to kick it with him and I loved the library! Inside garden and just the sound of water within the library with the view to look outside towards the park and botanical garden says enough. Their reference section and computer area is amazing and I think the major perk is the Wi-Fi that they have there for the public. You can even go online OUTSIDE of the library which is pretty sick. Also there is a huge parking area and a gigantic park in the back for people to have their picnics and such. Not the best grass but the inside of the library has a great layout for tables and such. Yeah, definitely a great place to hit up.
The Cerritos Library is simply amazing as it is already located across the street from the Cerritos Towne Center which is enough to tell people that it's also right by Guppies!! The place looks like a museum and seriously, the layout inside is beautiful and the things that they have here are hard to explain with words. They have this garden that's pretty nice even though I think it's kind of small but nonetheless very well organized. The outside of this place does NOT look like a library at all. A lot of water fountains surrounding the place and I feel like I'm walking into a law school library on the first floor and the second floor has its computer settings looking like it's a lecture hall I would see at San Jose State or a tech school.
I've yet to check out any books or look around at their selections for the last two libraries but I'm sure that the books are similar since I really only use the references now, at this age. I wish I could have more time to go through the novels and read something worth it leisurely. I guess that's why I go to Barnes and Nobles a lot to get my feed of recent novels and readings that I should've read back in high school I guess… IDK.
Yeah, I'm really just procrastinating with my studies right now… overall, I'm really disappointed with the material that's covered for OCHEM at CSUF since it's not as packed as I thought it would be compared to the lectures and OCHEM at Pacific. I never bought the book for CSUF since I have the $200 book from Pacific and seriously… it's all the same concept and the rules are all the same. I'm just looking back at my notes and exams from when I took this class at Pacific and the materials that I had to learn was SO MUCH HARDER so I guess I should be more grateful knowing that I can get a passing grade in this class but I feel that it won't prepare me enough for when I start the second half of this curriculum in the Spring when I have to graduate. Lame… It's also the semester when I want to put on Breakthrough too so… we'll see how this happens. After tomorrow I'm going to have to jump back into this game and write out the plays for people to follow.
It also gives me a chance to hit up the library again and work in an open environment =) I'm going to be blowing up everyone's emails again lol just three months ago I was living through my Microsoft outlook… I actually do miss it a lot now since I had reasons to keep in touch with all the crazy people and such. Anyway, back to studying.
Life update: Financial burdens aren't a huge issue until the Bank calls me and tells me about collections… and I've yet to pay for my tuition for my summer class at Pacific starting on July 27th. Still got to renew my car's registration, get auto insurance, and pay for my car's auto repairs… with no job and parental support… YAYYY and I have til August to also pay for my school year's tuition. All the meantime I'm smiling =) cuz if people don't read my blog then they will never see this complaint and I'm not going to be one to say all this if they're gonna ask me about how I'm doing lol. Yeah… One person messaged me on aim and told me they're gonna go MIA again cuz they wanted to save up money and it's totally understandable. Too bad it's so hard for me to tell people that I can't go out to eat with them cuz I can't do anything about it. It also sucks that my place isn't the best place to have people over either lol GAH I miss living on my own and living at my old place… not gonna complain so much. The food is amazing… I remember when the team was down here and they ate two pots of my mom's cooking within 2 hours… crazy asses.
Ok seriously back to studying lol
