Starting this blog early since I have a lot of free time now and I won't be going out to save up for my snowboarding trip next weekend. Feelin the financial burden already and I need to balance my checkbook better for car maintenance and what not.
Spent Friday night preparing for the World of Dance Awards and was scooped up by Lil John to head to Hollywood. Lotta traffic but we still got there on time. I didn't like how the event was supposed to start at 8PM but doors weren't opening up for everyone to get in til 10PM. not the business and it was really more casual than I thought it was. At least I wasn't the only one dressed up. If anything too, it didn't stop me from talking to the bigger name folks in the scene and industry who were there. Makes me happy that I get smiles and attention to talk to people rather than a "who tf are you?" look. Very much appreciated =) I had fun nonetheless even though I didn't stay for the afterparty. Left early and ended up just going home and resting for my Saturday.
Had a lot of plans on Saturday to hit up IDK Auditions and Workshop and then go to the Common Ground workshops but then I figured that I shouldn't be spending my time remember other routines that I don't need to when I'm trying to audition for another company and screwing myself over not remembering anything that I really should be focusing on. So I left IDK early and decided to visit friends who were in SD. so much for that... I had a friend from the Bay Area who was down there but he was busy. Had a friend who I haven't seen in over 10 years but he was working and couldn't come out even though I was there I guess... so I thought I'd hit up other friends who were either with family or their girlfriend. Alone time in SD it was. Not bad but I did started missing the folks who I would visit before but they either all graduated and are back in OC or they moved to Vegas. Lonely but somewhat relaxing SD afternoon.
Got a migraine heading back to OC and wanted to sleep but I was hit up by Jon and Jeff to update me on where they were before hitting up Kayla's birthday party. Decided to go watch Tron with them since I've been really wanting to go watch that. It wasn't in 3D but it was still good. I liked that I was watching it with people who saw the original Tron. Good times though. Went home and slept then slept some more before heading over to the party where everyone was drunk already. Got to see old faces who I haven't seen in awhile and it was nice to catch up with them as well as making new friends and filling each other in on how we all fit into this party picture. Left early and got home just to do whatevs.
Come today and I didn't do much but bum around til dance rehearsal. Couldn't do laundry since mom took the key to the laundry room with her to work and I ended up being too lazy to take care of my car. So I slept all day then went to long beach, picked up Jeff and headed to practice. Totally was not feelin the first piece we learned but picked myself back up for the next 3 pieces that we learned. 6 routines in 4 days... yeah, definitely no workshops for me for awhile before I get all of these down.
and now i'm here...
Can't say I don't miss the company of coming home to a house/apartment with friends/boyfriend who I can talk to. I don't miss the inconvenience of staying up and being all tired at work but I do miss the socializing and just laughing to end my night away before heading to bed. I don't miss the interruptions but I appreciate the surprises. I hate the disappointments but I love the efforts of someone trying to be nice by doing something thoughtful for me.
