- Our relationships are influenced by outside forces
- Cultural norms and media models
- Affect the ways we conduct our day to day interactions as well as the relational prototypes we use to evaluate relationships
- The involvement of family and friends
- Parents imposing family rules, close friends urging us to consider their feelings, coworkers giving us their opinions, even therapists, preachers and attorneys--all can have a say in the way we build relationships
- Economic and environmental conditions
- When these surroundings are stressful, the relationship suffers.
- Crossover - occurs when stress in the workplace affects the spouse at home
- It would appear that when things go wrong outside the relationship, relational partners have to work harder to maintain the relationship
and yes i do find it weird and a bit scary cuz i agree with it. the environment and my surroundings are not being nice to me and the struggle with money is definitely making it harder to maintain a relationship. i wish i had all the expenses possible to help give him anything he wants. he totally deserves it.
