Family Type of Network

So I'm typing another chapter outline and this one has to do with the family interaction patterns… here's an excerpt from my notes and I just wanted to share my quick 2 cents on it:

There are three family communication networks. The chain network consists of family members relaying messages to one another via a series of other family members. It is typically used when members see each other occasionally but are rarely all together at once. Messages are, however prone to distortion as they are passed along. The wheel network is a highly centralized network found in families that communicate through one key figure. Most members do not talk directly to one another. They find out about each other from the central figure. The all-channel network is the most decentralized network of all. It is characteristic of families that spend a lot of time together as a unit and in separate dyads. All or most of the communication channels are open and utilized.

As much as I want to have my team be the wheel network type of family and that everyone will tell me something or at least have it be the chain network… I have to understand and I hope others will see it too that the relationship between one another is typical of the all channel network. Directors will have to see that they will never know everything and that communication is harder than it is so there's nothing really to be frustrated about. It bothers me when people are frustrated about not ever knowing what's completely going on with people in their team… I think it's natural and they just need to get over it =)
