when i start hearing too much of the same thing

i've been watching more and more singing artists speak on youtube and i just saw a video about how one got to start writing songs...

not to be completely rude but i do find it so easy to mock certain artists and genres because all the artists tend to say or answer the same thing and here i thought that they were trying to stand out and be original.

1. you write your own music and lyrics -- this is by far the most impressive to me but then when they're off their song and instrument, i hear the same story:

2. "i wrote this song because i went through a touch relationship with ___" oh really? and are you trying to send a message to all of those out there who are feeling the same way?
3. you're depressed cuz of your family? no way...
4. you're inspired by someone who now we know you're pretty much copying off of? tough... i won't compare but it's gonna be hard to forget if i heard something similar.
5. so you're going to stop singing and performing and just become a writer?

awesome... your songs may be amazing but your personality strikes me as nothing different than the next guy in line who's trying to make it big.

i know this is a bitter post but i would like to really meet singing artists out there have more versatility and ability to do more than just perform.

the same thing with graphic artists ONLY MAKING TSHIRTS. c'mon now... for real? anybody can do that. if you're really going to promote your talent, think big!

otherwise who else is going to promote you? there were about 10+ people at my school who knew how to play and sing on a guitar. i'm sure there are just as many people out there who would love to fight for the attention you're getting and can do more with it!

again a bitter post. sorry if i offend anyone but i'm really just not sold just by a good song when someone wants me to check out an artist.
